
Police arrested a 33-year-old taxi driver who drove the wrong way on Sunday, crashed into another car, injuring two people, and fled the scene of the accident, abandoning the car, the Galati County Police Inspectorate reported on Monday.
Police officers from the Galati traffic bureau found a 33-year-old man who was evading the investigation and hiding in an apartment located in a block on the outskirts of Galati, where he lived for rent, Agerpres notes.
It was checked on a breathalyzer – 0.27 mg/l of pure alcohol in exhaled air.
After the completion of the hearings and collection of evidence in the criminal proceedings, the police detained him for 24 hours.
He was placed in the Galatsia Pre-trial Detention Center to be presented to the prosecutor’s office at the Galatsia Court for the selection of a preventive measure.
