It seems that the Ukrainians have carried out another attack from sea drones, this time on the oil terminal of the large Russian port of Novorossiysk.

Footage of the explosion in the port appeared on social networks, and information and news on this topic are being removed from Russian news sites.

“Ukrainian naval drones can now reach a Russian naval base that was previously considered safe. When unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were used to attack Sevastopol on October 29, it led to significant changes in the operations of the Russian Navy.

The threat is considered so serious that new defenses have been added to Sevastopol. And the Russian fleet, which dominated the Black Sea at the beginning of the war, barely leaves port. Now this threat has reached another important base of the Russian fleet, Novorossiysk,” notes naval analyst H.I. Sutton of Naval News.

The Russians say nothing happened

Information about a drone attack on the Sheskharis oil terminal near the Russian city of Novorossiysk, which is operated by the Russian oil company Transneft, is false, the company’s spokesman Igor Demin said on Friday.

“The information about the attack of a marine drone on the Sheskharis oil terminal is false. There are no injuries,” the spokesman said.

Despite Russia’s response, Naval News emphasizes that the information about Novorossiysk is credible and reliable, and that the attack did take place.

“Even a small attack that causes little or no damage can have huge consequences for Russia.

Attacking the oil infrastructure makes strategic sense for Ukraine. Russia has repeatedly targeted Ukrainian industry and civilian infrastructure as a strategy. Even without damaging infrastructure, this attack could affect Russia’s ability to export crude oil,” the source said.

Ukrainians attacked the Russian fleet in Sevastopol with naval drones

Last week, Ukraine admitted that its forces launched attacks on the Black Sea Fleet from Sevastopol in Crimea in late October.

It is also reported in Ukraine that through the United24 platform, dedicated to raising funds for a fleet of marine drones, enough funds have been collected for the purchase of the first of 100 drones that will form the fleet of the USV of Ukraine.

The platform said the “small and fast” drones damaged three Russian ships, including the Admiral Makarov, a military frigate that is also the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. Russian authorities have acknowledged damage to one dredger, but not to any other vessel. There was no independent confirmation that Makarov was seriously damaged.

The footage shared on social media shows the moment of Ukraine’s attack on the Black Sea Fleet in Crimea and how one of the drones came very close to the Admiral Makarov frigate.
