U.S. and South Korean forces held a joint military exercise on Friday in response to the launch of an ICBM by the North Korean regime a few hours earlier, according to South Korea.
As announced on Friday afternoon (local time) by the Ministry of Defense in Seoul, this aerial exercise was conducted with live fire, representing an escalation in South Korea’s and the United States’ response to more than 20 missile tests North Korea has conducted this year.
The exercises were conducted using South Korean F-35A aircraft and American F-16 aircraft, the South Korean ministry said in a statement.
On Friday morning, North Korea launched another intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) that fell into the Sea of Japan, but it is estimated that its range could reach the United States of America.
This was North Korea’s second missile test in the past few days.
