Edi Iordenescu’s conclusion after the 1:2 match with Slovenia: “The Romanian national team has a future”

“The result was not positive, but the test was very good. It’s not easy to debut so many players in such a good team.

In the first half, we were timid, without game chemistry. There were two teams on the field: one with harmonious relationships and the other, looking for each other, looking for chemistry. However, we had a bar in this first half. In the second half, we all saw something different, a different courage, a different state of mind, a different confidence. We scored a goal and could have equalized. I am convinced that if we had scored before the 80th minute, we could have won.

We focused on a lot of young players and went for it. Now let’s analyze and take a look at the state of the players. We are going to Moldova and are waiting for a positive result. The great struggle begins in March. I think that the Romanian national team showed that there is a future, we need more confidence” – Edi Jordanescuquoted by News.ro.

In the match in Cluj-Napoca, Slovenia was distinguished by Sesko (’26) and Sporar (’32), and Dragus (’64) scored for Romania.

Romania will play a friendly match against the Republic of Moldova on Sunday at 20:30 in Chisinau.
