
United States, European UnionCanada, Norway, Singapore and the UK are committed to taking action to address the climate and energy crisis and articulate the need to accelerate the global transition to clean energy, according to a joint communiqué released today.
The governments of these countries say they recognize that dependence on fossil fuels “leaves us vulnerable to market fluctuations and geopolitical challenges,” the text of the joint communiqué says.
Governments are also reiterating the call under the Global Methane Commitment for a collective reduction in anthropogenic methane emissions of at least 30% from 2020 levels by 2030.
