
Hundreds of protesters are outraged climate crisis took to the streets of Lisbon today. Dozens of citizens broke into the building where Portuguese Finance Minister Antonio Costa e Silva was speaking, demanding the resignation of the former head of the oil company.
With banners and chanting of slogans, the protesters demanded action to combat climate change. As several protesters burst into the building, those outside chanted “Costa e Silva, get out!”

The police dragged the protesters out of the building. The Portuguese television channel RTP reported that the minister left the building through the back door.
The Finance Ministry declined to comment.
The demonstration in Portugal came as world leaders, politicians and representatives from nearly 200 countries gathered for the UN Climate Conference COP27 in Egypt in hopes of keeping the goal of preventing the worst effects of climate change alive.
However, some activists do not believe that COP27 will solve the problem.
