Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said late on Saturday that Ukraine was able to conduct successful operations in Kherson and other places, particularly thanks to resistance in the Donetsk region against repeated Russian attacks. Recalling the joy of the people of Kherson and how the Ukrainian military was received in Kherson, Zelenskyi said that the same would happen in Melitopol and even in Crimea, a peninsula annexed by the Russians in 2014.
Speaking about the “fierce fighting” in Donetsk, Zelensky said that “it’s hell” there.
– But our units bravely defend themselves – withstand the terrible onslaught of the invaders, hold the defense lines.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is convinced that in Crimea, after liberation from the occupiers, local residents will greet the Armed Forces of Ukraine with Ukrainian flags, as they do now in Kherson.
“The same will happen in Genitsk and Melitopol. We will come to all our cities and villages in Donbas. We will definitely see how people with Ukrainian flags, which they hold there, will meet the Ukrainian troops in Crimea, and on the day of liberation, there will be hundreds of them on the streets,” said Zelenskyy.
On November 11, even before the official information about the liberation of Kherson, the city’s residents took to the streets with Ukrainian flags in anticipation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
