eMAG announced its best Black Friday in 11 years with total orders of 644 million lei, compared to last year’s figure of 609 million. Each order contained an average of 4.1 products, and its average cost was 1,170 lei.
For the first time on Black Friday, the city of Cluj-Napoca took first place in the ranking of cities in terms of the average cost of an order per customer, followed by Bucharest, Iasi and Constanta.
The product categories that generated the most interest were: Grocery, Beverages, Toys & Baby Products, Personal Care, Furniture & Homeware, or Electronics & Appliances. Among the special categories available only on Black Friday, eMAG customers were interested in pork, discount vouchers for Tarom plane tickets, travel packages and medical services.
Payment installments increased by 43% compared to last year, with 90% of payments made directly from the eMAG/Wallet account.
Black Friday accelerated payment by card, which was used to pay for 63.2% of orders. At the highest level were orders from mobile devices – more than 81.9% of the total number.
More than half of the total number of orders, i.e. 51.8%, were placed in easybox, and since the evening of Black Friday, 40,000 parcels have arrived in the storage rooms.
75% of orders will be delivered in the first five days after Black Friday, and the logistics infrastructure is ready to ensure full delivery of all orders by November 25, the company says.
