
Caterham introduces a new addition to its Seven series, with Caterham Seven 340, which will be sold in Europe and Japan. The model is in the middle of the European line, which starts with the Seven 170 with 85 horsepower and replaces the Seven 275.
Caterham Seven 340, according to the British manufacturer “once again combines absolute performance and affordable control”thanks to the new powerful engine with 170 horsepower and still weighing just over 500 kg.
Caterham Seven 340: 170 horsepower engine
The Caterham Seven 340 ditches the Ford Sigma’s 1.6-litre engine in favor of it 2.0 liter unit Duratec, which usually powers the sportiest models in the Seven lineup. This engine offers more low-end torque with maximum torque 174 Nmas well as maximum power 170 horsepower for maximum sensations.
This means a 25% increase in power compared to the Seven 275, while emissions increase by just 2% to 148g/km CO2, while continuing to meet European emission standards. The model has a sporty design with a refined mass balance, as well as a semi-light weight bordering on 500 kg. Caterham has yet to measure 0-100 km/h, but its maximum power is 209 km/h.

Caterham Seven 340: two different versions
The Caterham Seven 340 offer is available in two versions that offer different experiences: “S” version. is designed for road use and comes with a five-speed gearbox, an off-road suspension package, classic 14-inch alloy wheels, a full windscreen, hood and side screen panels, and black leather seats.
The “R” version. more suitable for the track with a limited-slip differential, a sports suspension package, 15-inch Orcus alloy wheels, four-point seat belts, a reinforced roll cage, a carbon fiber instrument panel, and a composite windshield.
Caterham Seven 340: from €45,700
The Caterham Seven 340 is on sale in Europe at a starting price from 45,700 euros for the S version, and for the R version – from 47,200 euros.
