As we know, a trip to Paris is far from a walk in the park. Indeed, between the traffic jams, accidents that block traffic for hours, and the surrounding darkness on the road, it’s not a good idea to drive in the mornings and evenings. And yet this is the fate of most residents of Ile-de-France, who are forced to go to work every day, even though many professions can be performed remotely. A situation that is not always easy, especially since the price of fuel has always been very high since the beginning of the year. Not to mention the cost of maintenance, which has also increased. Suffice it to say that a rush-hour trip to Ile-de-France, and especially in the direction of Paris, takes a lot of courage.

time spent

And this is once again confirmed by a Coyote investigation, which has just published the results. And these are simply incredible! Indeed, according to the company, Ile-de-France motorists spend an average of 67% of their time in traffic each morning on their way to Paris. The figure in the other direction decreases sharply, because for those who leave the capital during rush hour, it is only 19%. According to Coyote, congestion is back to 2019 levels after two years of decline due in part to the health care crisis and mass use remote work. It would seem that not everyone learned their lesson, and this event was quickly postponed.

Odd numbers

Coyote was also interested the most overloaded axles. Unsurprisingly, the A6 is in first place, as 81% of journeys are made at speeds below 35 km/h. Then comes A3, then A1 and A4. On the other hand, some routes have better ones. This is especially true of the national highway 118, in some sections there are somewhat less traffic jams than in 2019. But it is still one of the most blocked lanes in the region during rush hour.
