Edi Yordenescu, forced to give up several important players

Jordenescu said that not all the players he would have liked could be called up for the final training matches before their next debut in the EURO 2024 qualifying tournament.

“As I said at the end of the September campaign, I want to have continuity in the national team, both in terms of strategy and philosophy of the game, and in terms of selection, to form a homogeneous team and a cohesive group.

So for those two matches I had other players from abroad in my list. However, since this was not a FIFA period, there were clubs from abroad who, for various reasons, did not want to leave the players to their own devices, overriding their wishes.

In these conditions, I had to change the strategy and then I invited several promising players who, in our opinion, could present a solution for the first representative team in a short time” – Edi Jordanescuquoted by FRF.
