Last month was warmer than usual and there were many areas where there was almost no rain. The temperature record of 1960 was broken, and among the cities where there was almost no rain are Ploiesti, Tirgovishte, Drobeta-Turnu-Severin and Mangalia. And at an altitude of 1,500 in Sinai, less than a tenth of the usual October rain fell, according to ANM data.

The average temperature in October 2022 ranged from 1.3 °C at the weather station Vf.Omu to 15.0 °C in Constanta. In Omu, the temperature was from -7.1 to +10 degrees, and in Constanta – from +3.7 to +25.9 degrees.

In October 2022, the maximum absolute monthly temperature was exceeded at two weather stations, both in Dobruja: Corugea and Sf Gheorghe Delta, both exceeding 28 degrees (+29.8 C at Gorgova and +28.7 C at Sf Gheorghe). The deviation of the average air temperature in October 2022 from the median of the standard interval (1991-2020) was positive throughout the country, less so at the Sf.Gheorghe Delta weather station, where it was 0.

Large deviations, more than 2.0 °C, were recorded in the western half of Moldova, in large areas in Oltenia and locally in Muntenia, Dobrudja, Krysan, Transylvania and in mountainous areas. The highest value of the deviation was 3.0 °C at the Țarcu weather station. Where was it much warmer than usual? Drageshani (+2.8 C), Semenik (+2.7 C), Pyatra-Neamts (+2.7 C), Tirgu-Neamts (+2.5 C).

In most parts of the country, the regime is warm. It was very hot in large areas of Moldova, in the east and south-west of Oltenia, in the south-east of Banat, locally in Muntenia and Dobrudja and separately in Transylvania, Maramureş and some mountainous areas.

The total amount of precipitation in October 2022 was less than 30 mm in most of the country. Monthly precipitation exceeded 50 mm only in mountainous areas. The highest value of precipitation for this month at weather station Stâna de Vale was 106.6 mm, and the highest value of precipitation that fell in 24 hours in October 2022 was recorded at weather station Kuntu – 29.3 mm. The lowest value of the monthly precipitation in October 2022 was recorded at the Ploiesti weather station (0.3 mm).

The deviation of the amount of precipitation in October 2022 from the median of the standard interval (1991-2020), calculated as a percentage, was negative almost throughout the country. High values ​​of negative deviation, more than 80%, were recorded in most of Oltenia and Muntenia, in the south and southwest of Banat, in the west of Crisana, in the south of Dobrudja, and in the south – east and west of Moldova.

The highest negative deviation value was 99.5% at the Ploiesti weather station. Positive deviations were recorded only locally or singly, in Transylvania and in mountainous areas. The largest value of positive deviation was 20.7% at the weather station Vlădeasa 1800.

The precipitation regime was unfavorable in most of the country, was very deficient in most of Oltenia, large areas of Muntenia, northern and southern Dobrudja, southern and southwestern Banat, central and southeastern Moldova, western Crisana, and southeastern Transylvania . In the rest of the country, it was within normal limits.
