The gendarmes violate the fans’ right to dignity

The people of Giulesti claimed that the fans’ right to dignity had been violated and demanded the intervention of Interior Minister Luciano Bode.

“I received the news with indignation about how the law enforcement officers managed to treat our fans before entering the National Arena, for the match on November 6.

The treatment they suffered at the hands of the gendarmes, who separated them according to criteria known only to them, stripped them, photographed them and described them as if they were objects, is not only offensive, but also a violation of one of the most basic human rights. : the right to dignity. This is a fundamental right that Romanians took back during the revolution, and we will not allow it to be violated for any reason, let alone the simple “crime” of being a member of the gallery.

We took on the task of filling the stadiums with spectators, as before, because we decided to lead by example and not expect anything from others.

It seems that, like Don Quixote, we are fighting against windmills: the more we do to attract fans to the stadiums, the more the state drives them away.

Such acts of sad memory only weaken the trust not only of speed fans, but also of all sports fans, in everything that means policemen and gendarmes.

We publicly ask Minister Bode to take urgent measures to stop this practice by the Romanian Gendarmerie, to establish the circumstances under which these clearly illegal orders were given and carried out, and to bring those responsible to justice.

We thank our fans for putting their presence on the team first and let them know they are not alone in the face of these abuses. Come on, Quick!” – FC Rapid on Facebook.
