Raul Kostin is convinced that football is a bubble in which development is neglected

In an interview with GSP.ro, the Romanian vice-champion from FC Vaslui discussed the problems faced by footballers who end their careers and place too much importance on football, neglecting their life outside the sport.

Raoul Costin plays for fun in Ligue 4 on Saturdays at the Spicul Vâlcelele, and the rest of the time he looks after the cafe he recently opened.

“Once you quit professional football, you’re basically starting from scratch, you’re like a baby learning to walk. I realized that football is a bubble that we all live in, but which is not 100% real.

You play football but you neglect the learning part, you neglect the development part as a person.

I have a diploma of a physical trainer for about 10 years, completed the courses. I also graduated from the sports department, I also have a master’s degree in sports management, but I graduated from them, as football players graduate.

I don’t know what to do now. Being out of college doesn’t help me at all.

Or that I have a physical trainer diploma under conditions where hundreds of coaches and physical trainers leave every year and there are 16 vacancies in League 1, 20 in League 2 and 70-80 in League 3. And then?! Take this side to do what?

You find yourself spending your whole life in football, in that bubble where you always have someone on the phone to help you, to do something for you.” – stated Raul Kostin.

“You always need someone to watch over you, and when you let go, you realize that person is gone. That’s when life is in full swing.

It took two weeks to register the car. These are everyday things that you encounter. The problem is not only with me, I think with 90 percent of players. Of each generation, how many more will you hear after they are released? 10-15 percent.

Ignore education, it’s hard to do both or the system is designed so you can’t do both. There are many footballers who hesitate because of the accumulated pressure, there are others who can’t or don’t want more, and so they end up saying that the Romanian footballer is underrated.” – he added.

Raoul Kostin told what he would change in his life if he had such an opportunity

“I would change something. Here is an example. In the time I’ve been playing, I think I’ve watched every movie imaginable.

Now I realize that I could only see half or less than half, and the rest of the time I was reading, listening to podcasts, growing humanly, spiritually and personally.

With what you accumulate in these areas, you can build something after football. Or even during football.

This is fashion. If you play soccer and don’t have two apartments, then you weren’t a soccer player. But I don’t know if this is the solution.

If you have problems and need money, sell one of the apartments. Once you live your whole life and are used to 100 lei per month and you only get 10 lei from the rent after you leave, the standard of living is automatically not the same anymore and then the easy option is to sell one of the apartments . .

Let a lot of money come to you. Then you sell the second one, and construction follows. You didn’t accumulate anything before, you can’t do anything anymore.” – he also specified Raul Kostin.
