Elon Musk didn’t seem to be amused by the fact that Twitter filled accounts under his own name and began permanent deletion, once and for all banning profiles with nicknames.
As was warned yesterday, those who create fake profiles impersonating other users will be permanently banned from Twitter without any warning. The only exception will be “parody” accounts, which will have special marks.
In the future, any activity on Twitter that impersonates someone else without a clear indication of “parody” will be permanently blocked.

Several celebrities have changed their account name to Elon Musk or something similar, wanting to express their disagreement with the platform’s decision to award a blue check mark — a verified account badge — to anyone willing to pay $7.99 a month.
Some of the accounts that made the change have already been banned, such as the account of comedian Kathy Griffin and the Australian satirical site Chaser.

mask warning
In a Twitter post, Musk explained that so far, the platform has issued a warning before suspending a profile.
Now that Twitter is developing a broad user verification process, there will be no warnings and the rule will apply everywhere.
“This will be a requirement to sign up for Twitter Blue,” Musk said, adding that any name change would result in the loss of the user’s identity verification token.
Any name change will cause the checked checkbox to be temporarily lost.

In regards to deleting user accounts, Musk said last week that they will not be allowed to return to Twitter until said social media platform has “a clear process for doing so.”
Organizing such a process will take at least a few weeks, Musk said in a post, explaining the possible return of the most famous Twitter user, former President Donald Trump, who has been closed. The new schedule suggests that Trump will not return until tomorrow’s midterm congressional elections.
On Sunday, The New York Times reported that Twitter is delaying activation of its user verification process until the midterm elections.
Monthly billing on iPhone has begun
On Saturday, the Twitter app on the Apple App Store was updated to start collecting an $8 monthly fee for the blue confirmation badge. This is Elon Musk’s first major change on Twitter.
The hulking businessman will take over as chief executive of Twitter, and last month he said the platform would create a content review board that would have “diverse views across a broad spectrum.”
“No important decisions about the content of the posts or the restoration of user profiles will be made before this council meeting,” he added.
