Citing information from the Turkish authorities, the Anadolu agency claims that Apostolos Tsizikostas, whose identity was verified along with those of other passengers during customs procedures in Izmir, “was with the local authorities for some time due to a technical problem that arose due to the similarity of his name with the name of the person who had restricted entry.

According to the relevant Turkish publication, “The local authorities have informed Mr. Tsitsikostas that after the problem is resolved, he can enter Izmir and continue his program. However, Mr. Tsitsikostas told the authorities that he would not enter the country…”.
