The businessman was arrested on Thursday afternoon (March 11) in the Hersonissos municipality area by the police of the Heraklion Security Sub-Directory for extortion and violation of labor laws.
His arrest came after three employees of the company he supports complained to the Heraklion Security Sub-Directory that from April to October 2022 he forced them to return to him part of their paid wages, which was provided for in the collective labor contract.
During a coordinated police operation, it turned out that the businessman received 500 euros from a 23-year-old boy, to whom he was paid as a severance pay.
The amount of money was confiscated and handed over to the 23-year-old man, while a preliminary investigation is being carried out by the Heraklion Security Sub-Directorate.
