The crash overshadowed the Rallye du Condroz, a stage of the Belgian Rally Championship. The Skoda car, piloted by Emerick Rary and Fabrice Henry, went off the track during the penultimate special task force in the city of Moja. Two spectators were killed, the pilot and co-pilot were also injured, as well as 11 other people.

In the press release of the organizers of the action, it is noted that “for an unknown reason, the car left the established route, crashed into the parapet and drove into a group of spectators who were in a restricted area.”

The test was interrupted, and the last special section of the rally was canceled. The driver who won the Rallye du Condroz, Russian Mykola Hryazin, will not receive his trophy at the ceremony, writes News.ro.

At the moment, a pre-trial investigation is underway to establish the circumstances under which the accident occurred.
