
HAS Headquarters is attracting the attention of citizens as attempts by the astute to deceive unsuspecting citizens using data from Ministry of Civil Protection and Greek Police officials continue.
The criminals are currently using information from Deputy Justice Minister Georgios Kotsiras, Secretary General of Public Order Michael Karamalakis, Cypriot Police Chief Stylianos Papatheodros and Europol Board Chairman Jérôme Bonet.
At the same time, in an attempt to give the corresponding letter “authenticity”, they use the logos of the Greek police, the Cypriot police, the Ministry of Justice, as well as judicial and law enforcement agencies.
In more detail, attackers, posing as competent inspection bodies, send emails and try to deceive network users, under the pretext that the recipient is involved in a case of pornography and other crimes.
As EL.AS points out, a particular message is deliberately false and fraudulent and is sent by intruders who are clearly trying to deceive – mislead citizens and subsequently obtain illegal financial benefits. The police are urging citizens not to respond and delete the specific message, as well as “do not open” attachments to avoid malware infection.
