Opel Corsa: a broad campaign to recall city cars Auto Plus news in your smartphone Auto Plus news in your mailbox

It certainly seems like a new reminder is being organized every week at the moment! And, to tell the truth, we are not so far from reality. Ferrari did it some time ago, then Kia and Hyundai with the EV6 and Ioniq 5, not to mention Ford. But other brands also had to go through the campaign, in particular Peugeot. Some models of the brand really suffer from various problems, which in some cases can lead to a fire. Of course, it is a very important problem that needs fast and adequate support in the workshop. But now another model, also from Stellantis group adds to an already long list. This is an Opel Corsa. And we explain the reasons.

A minor concern

But this time, rest assured, there is no risk of your car catching fire if you have a copy of the German city car. Indeed, if a large-scale recall campaign is being organized, it is for a much less important issue. Few people know about this, but there is a standard known as ECE R48, which requires a warning lamp to notify the driver that one of its lights is malfunctioning. However, this device doesn’t seem to actually work on the Corsa, although many don’t warn the driver that the turn signal isn’t working. It doesn’t look too serious, but it still requires a short visit to the workshop to fix the problem. The operation, however, should be quite quick, rest assured.

17,000 copies were affected

According to the latest information, it is at least 17,509 people Vauxhall Corsa who would be affected by this problem. The copies that will need to be returned to the dealer are homologated with CE number e2*2007/46*0639* followed by the numbers 05 to 15. But normally all owners will be contacted directly by their dealer. Usually, the repair should be free, fully paid for by the manufacturer. This usually applies to all recall campaigns organized by brands.
