In the six weeks leading up to Black Friday, searches begin to increase, peaking 4-5 days before the day eMAG chooses as Black Friday each year.

The number of Google searches for Black Friday 2022 started to increase from the first days of October and increased even more on October 21 (when Black Friday started at Flanco) and October 27 (when the campaign started at Altex. October 21 among the most popular terms in Google was Flanco and there were over 100,000 searches for “Altex” on October 27th.

Last week, Google Trends data shows several “peaks” where searches increased after Black Friday: October 26, 27 and 30.

At a press event organized by Google, representatives of several companies talked about some trends. For example, household heaters, dryers, and dishwashers will be the most in-demand products. It is clear that smartphones and TVs will sell the most.

As everything has become more expensive, whether people will become more rational and spend less on average remains to be seen. What’s certain is that the general idea that Black Friday prices will go up first, only to have room to come down later, persists.

Unlike previous years, eMAG did not make an official announcement about a month before announcing the Black Friday event date. The information has been known since early September from certain Facebook groups and was later confirmed by eMAG.

The first Black Friday in 2011 was very small in scale and took place on November 25. In 2016, it was November 18, and in 2022, the earliest is the 11th.
