A crime solved last Wednesday afternoon in an apartment on Omirou Street in Menemeni, Thessaloniki, the victim of which was a 41-year-old man.
According to police, the perpetrator was identified as his 69-year-old father, who was found unconscious next to his dead son and is under police surveillance in the intensive care unit of Papanicolaou Hospital.
The investigation of the department for crimes against life of the Security Service of Thessaloniki from the first moment was directed against the 69-year-old man, since no third person was found at the scene of the crime.
According to the conclusion of the forensic medical examination, the death of a 41-year-old man was the result of a severe craniocerebral injury. As it turned out, he was repeatedly hit with a gun, as a result of which his death occurred. The murder weapon is believed to be a shutter, which was reportedly found on the balcony of the house. The results of histological and toxicological tests are now awaited.
Similar laboratory tests will be carried out on his 69-year-old father, since it seems that after the murder he tried to commit suicide by taking a large number of unknown pills.
The father and son have recently been quarreling frequently, the cause of which, according to the family’s neighbors, is apparently the latter’s addiction to drugs. The crime came to light when the mother of the 41-year-old man and wife of the alleged perpetrator returned to the apartment, found their son in a pool of blood and the unconscious husband next to him, and called 911.
