In the first nine months of the year, 34,500 residential building permits were issued, down nearly 12% from the same period last year, according to data released Monday by the INS.

September 2022 compared to August 2022

Only in September 2022, 3,880 permits for the construction of residential buildings were issued (a decrease of 4.0%). Of the total number of permits for the construction of residential buildings, 71.3% are in rural areas.

In September 2022, there was a decrease in the number of issued permits for the construction of residential buildings (-163 permits), compared to the previous month.

In the territorial profile, this decrease is reflected in the following development regions: North-East (-100 authorizations), North-West (-88), South-East (-85), Bucharest-Ilfov (-60), Center (- 33) and South-West Oltenia (-8). Growth was registered in South Muntenia (+190 authorizations) and West (+21) development regions.

The period 1.I – 30.IX.2022 compared to the period 1.I – 30.IX.2021

In the period 1.1 – 30.IX.2022, 34,500 permits for the construction of residential buildings were issued, which is 11.8% less compared to the period 1.1 – 30.IX.2021.

The decrease was recorded in all development regions: North-East (-971 authorizations), Bucharest-Ilfov (-878), South Muntenia (-726), West (-572), South-East (-427), North-West ( -417), South-West Oltenia (-400) and Center (-223).
