Romania’s women’s handball team suffered a 33-28 (15-17) defeat to Hungary in Tatabania on Saturday in the first of two friendly matches before their European Championship debut next month. It was the hundredth match between Hungary and Romania.

Romania’s goal at the European Women’s Handball Championship

As part of Romania, the scorers were Grozav 11 goals, Bazaliu 4, Prystavica 3, Ostase 3, Nyagu 3, Seraficanau 3, Schirle 1, and for the Hungarians Klüiber scored 9 successes.

Romania and Hungary met in Tatabanya in match number 100, with Hungary leading the way in terms of victories with a score of 57-34 (there were also nine draws in official competitions or friendlies).

The tricolors will play the second friendly match against Germany also in Tatabania on November 2.

The Romanian team consists of 18 players: Yuliya Dumanska, Dachiana Khosu, Diana Chuke – goalkeepers; Alexandra Badea, Bianca Bazaliou, Elisa Bucheski, Nicoleta Dinka, Sorina Grozav, Alexandra Dindiligan, Krina Pintea, Lorena Ostase, Laura Pristavica, Sonia Seraficanou, Andrea Tirle, Cristina Nyagu (capt.), Diana Lixandrau, Corina Lupei and Michaela Mihai .

The Romanian national team will participate in the EC final tournament for the 14th time, and the 2022 tournament will be held from November 4 to 20 in the cities of Ljubljana, Celje, Skopje and Podgorica.

Tricolor captain Christina Nyagu will start the European Cups as the top scorer, having scored 264 goals during the tournaments in which she participated.
