American football superstar Tom Brady and Brazilian top model Gisele Bundchen confirmed on Friday that they have decided to separate, AFP reports.

The announcement ended weeks of tabloid speculation about marital strain caused by the defender’s return to competition just a month and a half after announcing his retirement.
“My wife and I recently finalized our divorce after 13 years of marriage. We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude after the years we spent together,” Brady (45) noted on Instagram.
Tom Brady returned to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after announcing his retirement in February.
42-year-old Gisele Bundchen, one of the highest-paid top models in the world, married Tom Brady on February 26, 2009.
They have two children together – a son, Benjamin, who was born in December 2009, and a daughter, Vivian, who was born in 2012. Tom Brady has another son born in August 2007 from his relationship with actress Bridget Moynahan, Agerpres reports.
