
The Mayor of Athens, K. Bakoyannis, announced a horizontal reduction in municipal fees by 5% in an interview with SKAI TV channel.
In particular, as Mr. Bakoyannis said, “on Monday, at the municipal council, I will propose the largest reduction in municipal fees in recent years in Athens – by 5%.”
The reduction will be horizontal for all Athenians, which he said and noted: “Everything is becoming more expensive, we in the municipality must facilitate and support citizens. Winter will be difficult. In fact, he clarified that there would be an installment plan.
The mayor of Athens added that along with the fee cuts, beautification projects in the city will continue. “The budget will exceed 1 billion euros for the first time. We managed to qualify for European money, which allows us to do all projects in microdistricts and in the city center,” he said.
Mr. Bakoyannis added that the goal is to convince young people to return to Athens. “This time we are working with playgrounds, parks, all stadiums in the city, from Monday we will start replacing all the lamps in the city, and there are 45.5 thousand of them, with LEDs,” he said.
We want to change the quality of life, improve it, in order to attract young parents to return to the areas of Athens, ”he said characteristically.
