“Special police forces suppressed the demonstration and opened fire on the crowd” that had gathered after Friday prayers in Zahedan, HRANA reported on Twitter.
On September 30, riots broke out in the city during protests against the rape of a young girl by a police officer. According to the non-governmental organization Iranian Human Rights, at least 93 people died.
