Italy: “Call Prime Minister Meloni,” says the secretary general of the government.

In his written directive to the various ministries, the new secretary-general of its presidium Italian Government Carlo Deodato stressed that in official documents Georgia Meloni henceforth referred to as “Prime Minister”.

This recommendation caused surprise and various comments in the Italian media, with some analysts suggesting that it could be “fake news”.

However, already in previous days, the press service of the Italian Prime Minister sent out messages in which “Prime Minister Meloni” was mentioned.

It is noted that the union of journalists of the Italian public television Rai made it clear in a statement that every journalist should, with absolute freedom of choice, whether to call Meloni “prime minister” or “prime minister” of Italy.

Finally, Deodato clarified that Meloni wanted to be called “Prime Minister of Italy” and not, as required by protocol, “Mr. Prime Minister of Italy.”

Meloni’s answer

In response to the above, Georgia Melon posted the following online:

“I read that the main topic of discussion today is about internal bureaucratic circulars, possibly incorrect, on the big question of what the first female prime minister should be called. Continue. I deal with household bills, taxes, work, certainty that it will unprotected fines and budget. As for me, you can call me whatever you want and Georgia“.
