A new video posted on social media by the Ukrainian military shows their attack with two military assets obtained from the United States.

The footage shows how Kyiv military personnel from the Javelin anti-tank complex attack Russian armored vehicles. Although it is at a considerable distance from the Ukrainian military, the recording from the second 0:09 shows a column of smoke rising above the Russian army vehicle.

One of the stars of the Ukrainian armed forces in the early stages of the war launched by Vladimir Putin on February 24, along with Bayraktar TB2 drones purchased from Turkey, the Javelin systems played a crucial role in stopping Russian armored convoys advancing towards Kyiv and other major Ukrainian cities.

In December of last year, the Ukrainian military fired for the first time from Javelin anti-tank systems, which were delivered to Kyiv during the tenure of former US President Donald Trump.

But Ukraine does not want to train its troops in the use of weapons due to fears that this could be seen as a provocation by Russia. But those fears were dispelled late last year after President Vladimir Putin ordered another secret concentration of Russian troops on the border with the neighboring country in October.

The Ukrainian army made the most of the Humvees received from the United States

The United States provided its famous Humvees to the Ukrainian armed forces as part of one of the first military aid packages announced by President Joe Biden. Although the exact number of American Humvees that reached Ukraine is unknown, it is believed to be several hundred vehicles.

The Washington administration also included the Humvee in a military aid package prepared in the middle of the month after massive Russian missile strikes on Kyiv and other major Ukrainian cities on October 10.

Several videos that surfaced on social media earlier this month showed Ukrainian soldiers using American Humvees during the fighting in the Kherson region, where they finally managed to break through part of the Russian front after intense fighting.

Despite the fact that the Humvee is essentially a 4×4 military vehicle that can double as an armored vehicle, the footage captured the insane bravery of the Ukrainian military as they used it in the thick of the fighting, advancing through the artillery fire of the Russian army.

Another striking video from September also captured a Ukrainian Humvee unit storming a Russian army position, with the footage shot from the perspective of a Ukrainian soldier firing a machine gun aboard the Humvee.

Although it is not clear where these images were taken, they most likely originated during the attack that led to the collapse of the Russian front in the Kharkiv region in northeastern Ukraine.
