Despite the fact that the Greek started the match better and at one point led in the set and the break (6-4, 2-0), Chorych came back impressively, won the second set and won the decisive tie-break: 6-4, 7 – 6 (4).

A former ATP No. 12 (in 2018), Coric has been sidelined by shoulder surgery in 2021. Horvath returned this year and won the Cincinnati Masters title after defeating him in the final against Tsitsipas.

For a place in the semi-finals of the competition in Austria, Chorych will fight with the fifth favorite Polish Hubert Gurkach.
