
Kanye West has said he lost two billion dollars in one day after companies such as Adidas and Gap dropped his contracts following a series of anti-Semitic remarks by the American entertainer.
“I lost two billion dollars in one day and I’m still alive,” he wrote on Instagram. “I still love you, God still loves you, money doesn’t define me, people define me,” the rapper added in the post, which has been liked by nearly 1.5 million people.
In early October, the American rapper made anti-Semitic remarks. On Instagram, Kanye West posted screenshots of a conversation with rapper Diddy, who criticized a T-shirt with the inscription “White Lives Matter” that the artist wore during Paris Fashion Week.
Kanye West wrote in a caption that has since been deleted: “I will use you as an example to show the Jews who told you to call me that no one can threaten me or influence me.”
Later, the rapper said on Twitter that he would attack Jews. The post, which was later removed from the social network for violating the rules of the platform. The artist’s Twitter and Instagram accounts were also restricted.
Since then, many brands that have collaborated with Kanye West (Gap, Adidas, Balenciaga) have announced that they want to stop working with the rapper.
