
As part of an official visit to Turkey, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz also met with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Earlier today, Mr. Gantz met with his Turkish counterpart Hulusi Akar in Ankara.
Messrs. Gantz and Akar agreed during today’s meeting to put the two countries, Israel and Turkey, on the path of restoring “functional relations” between them.
“Moving forward, we must take a firm and positive approach to our relationship, keeping the channels of dialogue open,” said Ankara-based Ganj, accompanied by Hulusi Akar.
For the first time in more than a decade, an Israeli foreign minister paid an official visit to Turkey.
Benny Gantz is reminded that he is a candidate for the leadership of the party (Party of National Unity or State Camp) and in the early elections to be held in Israel next Tuesday, 1in november.
