79-year-old Joe Biden, who contracted the coronavirus three months ago, was vaccinated with the first dose of the Covid vaccine in December 2020.

In March of this year, he received a second “booster” dose, the fourth in total that the American authorities at that time allowed to administer to elderly people.

He has now been vaccinated at the White House in front of the press with this additional dose against two sub-variants of SARS-CoV-2.

Joe Biden has announced initiatives to get Americans to get a “booster” vaccination before the end-of-year holidays, when they travel and see family.

Biden urged all Americans to revaccinate against the coronavirus

As of last week, only 20 million people in the United States had received the updated COVID-19 vaccine.

“I urge all Americans (…) to get vaccinated as soon as possible,” he said.

“Hundreds of people die every day from Covid, hundreds. It is likely that this number will increase this winter, but (…) this year almost all deaths are preventable,” added the head of the American state.

In September, the United States began offering an updated COVID-19 vaccine designed to combat subtypes BA.4 and BA.5. Omicron and the initial version of the coronavirus.
