Russian conscripts will be equipped with Iranian-made helmets and body armor, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports, as quoted by The Kyiv Independent. This information appeared against the background of the fact that Ukraine also accused Russia of using Iranian-made Shahed-136 attack drones.
About 1,500 body armor and 1,500 helmets of Iranian production are allegedly already stored in Russia and are ready for delivery to the Russian military, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports.
According to him, the supply of body armor and helmets from Iran is a response to the acute shortage of basic military equipment for hundreds of thousands of conscripts mobilized by Russia over the past month.
This information appeared against the background of the fact that Ukraine also accused Russia of using Iranian-made Shahed-136 attack drones, which move towards a target and explode on impact (so-called kamikaze drones). There are countless images of these drones on social networks, but they have the Russian name printed on them – Geran-2). Tehran denies supplying the drones to Moscow, and Russia denies that its forces used Iranian drones to attack Ukraine.
The chaotic method of mobilization caused a national scandal in Russia and protests in some regions, the scale of the violations was so great that even television stations in Moscow were forced to pay attention to the topic.
But despite assurances from Russian officials and propaganda television, numerous messages and videos have appeared on social media, some of them filmed by the recruits themselves, that men mobilized in Russia after September 21, when President Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization, are being sent to the front almost without preparation.
Some of the new recruits mobilized over the past month were captured by the Ukrainian military just a few days after they received their enlistment orders and were urgently sent to the front.
Some of those recruits have been sent to bolster defenses in Kherson, where the occupation authorities announced on Monday the formation of a “local militia” to support regular troops amid fears it could become the next Russian front to collapse quickly.
According to some estimates, Moscow is already preparing the withdrawal of its troops from here and is preparing Russian public opinion for this, even the Russians know that the Kherson region is of crucial importance for the defense and security of Crimea.
