
MedLife, the market leader in private healthcare in Romania, announces the completion of the deal to acquire 80% of the shares of Medici, the largest healthcare operator in Timisoara, following approval by the Competition Council.
- Thanks to this agreement, MedLife strengthens its position in the western part of the country and becomes the owner of 5 clinics, 2 laboratories, 1 stem cell laboratory and 1 multidisciplinary hospital in Timisoara.

With more than 25 years of history and continuous development, Medici’s has in its portfolio 4 clinics, a medical imaging laboratory, a laboratory analysis platform and a multidisciplinary hospital under construction. The Medici Hospital will have a total area of 5,500 square meters and will consist of two twin buildings. The first of them, which should be operational from June 2023, will combine a pharmacy, large tomography (CT and MRI), operating rooms, ATI, pre- and post-operative rooms. The second building of the hospital is planned to be completed in 2024.
The deal, approved by the Competition Council, involves the integration of four Medici clinics and laboratories, as well as a hospital, into the MedLife Group.
Thus, MedLife ultimately owns 5 clinics, 2 laboratories, 1 stem cell laboratory and 1 multidisciplinary hospital in Timisoara, which will be the largest private hospital in the city upon completion.
