The president of the Ukrainian industrial giant Motor Sich JSC Vyacheslav Boguslaev was detained by SBU officers in Zaporizhzhia (south) for cooperation and assistance to the aggressor state of Russia, Ukrinform and EFE news agencies reported on Sunday. quoted by Agerpres.
“Employees of the SBU detained the president of Motor Sich and the head of the foreign economic activity department of this company. They were informed of charges under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Art. 111-1 (cooperation); Article 111-2 (complicity of the aggressor state),” the SBU message stated.
Their detention took place as part of criminal proceedings on the fact of illegal supply of military equipment for Russian attack aircraft to Motor Sich.
According to the investigation, the management of the plant in Zaporizhzhia was involved in this operation.
The officials acted in cooperation with representatives of the Russian corporation Rostec, one of the main producers of weapons for the armed forces of the Russian Federation and close to the Kremlin.
“The perpetrators established transnational channels for the illegal supply of wholesale batches of Ukrainian aircraft engines to the aggressor state,” the SBU said in a statement.
According to the SBU, Russia used the obtained products for the production and repair of Russian attack helicopters Mi-8AMTSh-VN “Sapsan”, KA-52 “Alligator” and Mi-28N “Night fighter”.
It has been established that Russia massively used relevant models of military aircraft during the large-scale invasion of Ukraine, which is confirmed by the Russian combat helicopters destroyed by the Ukrainian army, the SBU notes.
“To circumvent restrictions on trade with Russia, the conspirators used commercial structures under their control in three countries in the Middle East, Europe and East Asia. It was these companies that sent “orders” to the Ukrainian manufacturer for the needs of a third party,” the Ukrainian security agency notes.
After receiving the military materials, the “intermediaries” sent them to Russia.
“The adversary also used foreign accomplices to repair and maintain its own aircraft using Ukrainian spare parts,” the SBU added.
During the investigation, SBU employees managed to identify all the organizers of the riots and document their criminal actions, take measures to bring the culprits to justice, the report says.
