In the pre-war period and until the end of the 1950s. Cadillac was at the top of its game. The internationally respected brand of the General Motors group then declared itself “The World Standard”: the world standard. A reputation that has not really been usurped at a time when even big names like it Rolls Royce or Bugatti tried to cling to the extravagance and flood of luxury of the American manufacturer. But things have largely gone wrong for Cadillac since then. The brand has become synonymous old cars, designed for nostalgic retirees who don’t pay too much attention to the technological content of their cars. Many also predicted the inevitable end of Cadillac, as well as other GM brands, referring to Pontiac.
“I always dreamed of creating my own car. I never knew it could be so personal.” – @LennyKravitz. #CELESTIQ #Be iconic

But with the advent of electricity, Cadillac knows burst of pride. The old range is still there, but the next generation is coming to lift the brand. in Electric SUV Lyriq arrived first and aims to replace the Escalade, the vehicle of choice for rappers and other American stars. And to highlight it, Cadillac has just introduced it the new standard bearer : Celestial.
The flying saucer is 5.49 m long
With his The length is 5.49 meters, the Cadillac Celestiq is excessive. But the view does not lend itself to escalation of aggressiveness: we are doing well here on the fieldultra-luxury, with a futuristic and almost sober style. The back 3/4 gain the most, p fastback style roofline which overlooks the tailgate (a rarity in the segment) and taillights that rise to the C-pillar. A flying saucer reminiscent of the manufacturer’s finest hours. The front part is made of several geometric lines, with a full grille that echoes the pattern of the Cadillac crest and can be illuminated. The lights are located vertically on both sides of the shield. The overall proportions evoke a (very) large GT, with substantial hood before, everything is underlined Wheels 23 inches on the four corners.
At least 5 screens and the largest glass roof in the world!
And inside, the show goes on. AND large plate 55 inches combines two large screens, including the instrument panel. In general, Cadillac Celestiq unites at least 5 screens : 55 inches, respectively, plus an 11-inch center screen, an 8-inch rear center screen, and two rear passenger screens of 12.6 inches each. Everything will have architecture designed by Google, like… Renault Mégane E-Tech. Finally, the Celestiq is equipped with Cadillac’s newest self-driving system called UltraCruise. A link to the US, which can also be updated and become 100% autonomy in the future.
in a larger glass roof of the world (by Cadillac), highlights a sophisticated, but very luxurious ensemble. No rear seat though individual chairs, to make the most of the generous space offered by Celestiq. And if the blue skin of the presented model does not suit you, do not panic. Every Cadillac Celestiq will be made individually for each client in the highest level of personalization, in the style of Rolls-Royce.
The technical part is a bit disappointing…
What about the technology? The Cadillac Celestiq is based on the proprietary Ultium platform, which has a Battery 111 kWh. Colossal… But autonomy is not so impressive: 483 km according to the manufacturer. We are very far from the heights of the Mercedes EQS (780 km), or even the recent Rolls-Royce Specter (520 km). For comfort, Celestiq passengers will be able to play with two 600 hp electric motors that accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds. Charging is also disappointing, p 200 kW maximum power compared to 270 kW for the Porsche Taycan, for example.
For a handful of dollars…
Still, the Cadillac Celestiq will be fine, much more expensive than those German links. Without naming the exact price, the developer’s managers confirmed the price ” over $300,000. At this price, the competition will be quite different: the Lotus Eletre, but especially the aforementioned Rolls-Royce Spectre. And playing on the same field as the world’s largest luxury brand risky bet… But with its unique presentation, futuristic look and state-of-the-art technology (with the exception of the electrical system), Cadillac gives itself, at least on paper, the means to realize its ambitions. And even if that bid falls through, let’s not hide our delight: Cadillac’s return to top form can only be good news. Let’s just hope the Celestiq will eventually be imported to Europe, though nothing less is certain.
