The former head of the Cluj District Police, Mircea Rus, his deputy, who is still in office, and the head of the personnel service were detained by DNA for abuse of office and complicity in this crime. The prosecutor’s office accuses Rus of illegally appointing Marton Elek as the head of the Dezh police three times in a row.

On Thursday, the DNA reported that the following were detained for 24 hours:

• Mircea-Ion Rus, chief police commissioner, at the time of the crime, head of the District Police Inspectorate (IPJ) Cluj, for long-term abuse of office
• Daniel-Sorin Graur, Chief Police Commissioner, Deputy Chief of the District Police Inspectorate (IPJ) Cluj, for complicity in abuse of office, in extended form
• Ioana-Paula Bob, Chief Commissioner of Police, Head of Human Resources of the District Police Inspectorate (IPJ) Cluj, for complicity in continuous abuse of office
• Marton Elek, Chief Commissioner of Police, Head of Police, Dej, for abuse of office, incitement to intellectual forgery, offensive behavior, complicity in abuse of office, in extended form.
