
The drama film “A Man Called Otto,” starring Oscar-winner Tom Hanks, will begin screenings initially in New York and Los Angeles on Christmas Day, according to Sony.
The film is based on the novel by Fredrik Backman. “A Man Called Uwe” which was again adapted in Sweden in 2015.

Directed by Mark Forster and written by David Magee, it follows Otto (Hanks), a grumpy widower who lives in isolation after losing his wife until the day when a lively young family moves next door and an unexpected friendship turns his life upside down. .
Filming began in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in February 2022 and wrapped up in May with the beloved actor also producing alongside his wife, Rita Wilson.
Also starring: Mariana Trevigno, Rachel Keller and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo.
The film will have its world premiere on January 13, 2023, according to Deadline.
