Peace, security and stability in the Aegean region, as well as in Eastern Europe as a whole, is promoted by the United States, which has a “non-partisan attitude” as Turkey as well as in Greece.
US Ambassador to Turkey Jeffrey L. Flake confirms this in a statement, noting that Washington’s position on security in the Aegean has not changed.
“Our defense cooperation with our NATO allies, Turkey and Greece, is impartial and balanced towards both sides. Our concerted efforts are to bring an end to Russia’s brutal and unprovoked war in Ukraine,” Flake said in a statement posted on Twitter by the US Embassy in Ankara.

Regarding Turkey, Jeffrey Flake reports that it “continues to provide valuable support, especially in the area of food security and the development of dialogue between Ukraine and Russia.”
For our country, he notes that US cooperation with it in the field of defense “strengthens the eastern flank of NATO, supporting Ukraine and our NATO allies in Central and Eastern Europe.”
And concludes: “The main goal that we share with our NATO allies, Turkey and Greece, is to ensure peace, security and stability in the entire region.”
