Most will agree that it’s not Christmas without a re-watch of the 1983 classic A Christmas Story, and this year there’s an extra reason to cheer.

On Monday, the first teaser was released for the upcoming sequel A Christmas Story, which promises to be a nostalgic trip down memory lane.

The new film follows Ralphie Parker, now an adult Ralphie Parker, the main character, once again played by actor Peter Billingsley.

The clip shows a snow-covered Cleveland Street before the camera pans to the Parker home, where beloved objects are once again seen, including a familiar lampshade, now slightly damaged.

As iconic bits of dialogue from the original film are played, such as young Randy’s scream (“I can’t put my hands down!”), there’s a brief shot of cute Ralphie and his friends.

The teaser ends with a close-up of a grown-up Ralphie, still blue-eyed and bespectacled, smiling at the camera.

A Christmas Story premieres on HBO Max on November 17.

Other actors reprising their iconic roles include Ian Petrella as Randy, as well as Zach Ward, the original Scat Farkus.

Attempts to return to film have been made in the past and have included television movies, a 1994 theatrical sequel starring Kieran Culkin, a direct-to-video sequel, and a musical.
