Small world hydrogen vehicles has been advancing by leaps and bounds over the past few years.

This year’s Mondial de l’Automobile in Paris is also hosting several brands showcasing concepts that run entirely on hydrogen!

Among them we find a French brand NamXwhich represents an ambitious hydrogen SUV prototype with futuristic lines.

French SUV with a hydrogen engine

NamX (for A new study of automobile mobility) is a new builder founded by Franco-Moroccan Fauzi Annaya and Frenchman Thomas de Lussac. For them, hydrogen is the ideal solution for combining environmental protection and driving pleasure.

After four years of research and development, the French brand presents HUV (for Hydrogen SUV), a very promising prototype!

The French brand wants to revolutionize the use of this energy, in particular thanks to removable caps contain hydrogen.

The principle is simple, but very effective. In addition to a fixed hydrogen tank, these pods are easy to install and replace, allowing you to fill up with hydrogen in seconds. They can also be transported very easily thanks to the built-in handle.

Finally, NamX has also developed a system for sharing and delivering capsules directly to the home thanks to Monthly subscription.

The design of the SUV coupe from Pininfarina

A small added benefit of this new type of SUV is that the two entrepreneurs called Pininfarina design your car!

The HUV has a futuristic coupe SUV look with styling that is both impressive and sophisticated. Up front, there’s an impressive grille surrounded by an illuminated ‘X’ signature to mark the brand’s name.

If we look at it in profile, we can see the X-shaped lines on the sides as well, with a sculpted body to the most beautiful effect. In the lower part, there are black plastic protections typical for SUVs, as well as large 22-inch wheels.

At the rear, an LED light sign is also present at the bottom along with a horizontal light bar. If you pay attention, this is where the NamX HUV’s main innovation is hidden: a place to put it six hydrogen capsules!

Two versions for NamX HUV

During the expected launch for 2025, Two versions will be offered for the NamX HUV.

We find a rear-engined entry-level version that will offer power 300 horsepower accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds. The second, more sporty version will offer two engines for all-wheel drive, no less 550 horsepower. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes only 4.5 seconds!
