A 17-year-old minor, without a license and under the influence of alcoholic beverages, caused an accident in Deja on Sunday, as a result of which he was injured and taken to hospital along with five other young people who were in the car with him, reports Agerpres .

“Firefighters from the Dej station and the Gherla work station responded last night to a serious traffic accident that occurred on Strada Dobrogeanu Gherea in the municipality of Dej. The emergency call was received around 04:30, a rescue vehicle, two SMURD crews and two DSNS crews were sent to the scene. Rescuers found a mutilated car left on the side of the road, with two imprisoned young people in it and three others who had to be extracted by special means. “The five victims were conscious, had numerous injuries and did not cooperate,” ISU Cluj said in a statement.

Firefighters with the help of evacuation equipment provided access and extracted the driver and the right front passenger, as well as three injured people who were in the back seat. Five were captured by SMURD and SAJ crews and taken to Dezh Municipal Hospital.

According to ISU Cluj, another boy, approximately 14 years old, was picked up by the SAJ crew from another location and also taken to the hospital.

Later, a private vehicle and multiple victims from the 1st Fire Department of Cluj-Napoca transported two boys and a girl, approximately 14 years old, to the emergency room in Cluj-Napoca, the quoted source said.

As IPJ Cluj reports, the young man who drove the car without a license was intoxicated.

The police are continuing the investigation into the fact of committing crimes of intentional bodily harm and driving a vehicle without a driver’s license,” IPJ Cluj noted.
