Igor Girkin, also known as Strelkov, was sent to the front as a deputy battalion commander, Russian propagandist and military journalist Maksym Fomin reported, Kyiv Independent reports with reference to UNIAN.

Girkin has not posted anything on the social network since October 10, but on October 15, Girkin’s wife published a photo of him in military uniform and added that everything is fine with him.

Researcher and military analyst of the Institute of Foreign Policy Rob Lee says with reference to the Russian Telegram channel that he may have gone with a detachment of Russian volunteers.

In September, Igor Girkin compared the collapse of one of the main front lines to the catastrophic defeat in the Russo-Japanese War, which became the impetus for the Revolution of 1905 in Russia.

Ihor Girkin, who often criticizes the country’s mismanagement, calling Defense Minister Shoigu a “cardboard marshal”, has repeatedly stated that Russia will be defeated in Ukraine if it does not mobilize at the national level, Reuters reports.

Ihor Girkin, involved in the downing of a Boeing 777 in 2014, publicly stated that he was denied the opportunity to go to the front.

In the summer, it was reported that he tried to enter the Kherson region using forged documents, but was detained by the police.
