Viktor Stiman’s organs saved five people

Dutch Supersport 300 World Championship rider Victor Steeman has died from serious injuries sustained during a race in Portugal at the weekend, World Superbikes has announced.

Viktor Stiman (Kawasaki) had an accident with several participants on the Algarve circuit. He was treated at the track and then airlifted to Faro Hospital. But the 22-year-old pilot did not survive.

“Something happened that always scared us, parents of motorcyclists. Our Victor could not win our last race.

Although our pain is unbearable, we are extremely proud to announce that our hero, after passing away, saved five people by donating his organs.

We thank everyone who has been with us over the past few days. We will miss Victor very much,” the pilot’s family said in a statement.

Steeman started the race in Portugal with a mathematical chance of winning the World Championship, according to News.ro.
