Tom Cruise and director Doug Liman are reportedly in a deal with Universal Films Entertainment Group to make an action movie set in space. The idea was theirs, and they pitched it in 2020 to Universal Filmed Entertainment Group president Donna Langley when the pandemic “froze” it.
“I think that Mr. Tom Cruise it will take us into space, it will take the world into space. This is the plan. We have a great project with Tom… He’s going to the International Space Station for filming,” said UFEG President Donna Langley in an interview with the BBC. And he continues: “The plot of the film is predictable. The main character goes into space, according to Langley, “to save the day.”
It’s worth noting that Top Gun grossed over $700 million at the domestic box office and $1.4 billion at the worldwide box office, according to TMZ.
