
Jessica Pegula, who is ranked 6th in the WTA ranking, qualified on Thursday for the Tournament of Champions, a competition that will be held from October 31 to November 7 in Fort Worth (USA).
Pegula, the No. 4 seed, advanced to the quarterfinals of the WTA 500 tournament in San Diego on Thursday after defeating Coco Vandeweghe (143 WTA) 6-3, 6-1.
Jessica will meet the winner of the match between Madison Keys (18 WTA) and Daria Kasatkina (11 WTA, favorite 8) to reach the semifinals.
Poland’s Iga Sviatek and Tunisia’s Ons Jaber, the top two in the WTA hierarchy, have also qualified for the Tournament of Champions.
