FRF calculations – The opponent with whom Romania will have no emotions in the qualifying match for Euro-2024

Edi Yordenescu will leave the position of selector if he misses qualification for Euro-2024

Romania is in Group I, where they will play Switzerland, Israel, Kosovo, Belarus and Andorra.

The first two places will go to the final European tournament, which is hosted by Germany.

“We are in the intensified process of collecting data about opponents. We try to analyze as best we can. I believe that the national team has its own chance, a great chance to reach the final tournament. It’s a balanced group, much better than other groups that we thought were terrible.

Switzerland are considered favourites, but that doesn’t mean we won’t go with confidence, that we won’t take our chances and we’re certainly moving towards the goal of reaching the final tournament. For me, this presence at the final tournament is mandatory, otherwise it’s the end of the road” – Edi Jordanescuat the press conference.

What does the selector say about the schedule of matches in Group I

“We cannot remove neither Kosovo, nor Belarus, nor Israel from the qualification equation. Every team has its chance, we have to use it. We have to raise our level, and it is very important that our players achieve success at the club level, impose themselves and come to the national team with optimal parameters.

It is very important to start well. We need to win team LC, we can look solid. The paper shows a theoretically accessible debut, but the final was fiery, Israel away and Switzerland at home. Then you need to have a margin of control.

It is necessary, of course, to raise one’s level, to show a different conviction and a different efficiency. The group is very balanced, but we have to watch with confidence. We could have fallen much worse. We must aim as high as possible. Why not? Let’s even attack the first place” – Edi Jordanescu.

What does Romania’s program look like in the preliminary competitions before EURO-2024

The EURO 2024 qualifiers will take place between March and November 2023, with 20 qualifying matches (the first two from each group).

3 more national teams will receive a place in the final tournament after the Nations League play-offs in March 2024. Germany, the host country, automatically qualifies.
