The average net salary in August was 3,933 lei, down 42 lei compared to July 2022, the INS reported on Wednesday. Purchasing power also decreased in August, the report says.

The highest net wages were (as usual) in ITC (almost 9,400 lei per month) and the lowest in clothing manufacturing (2,214 lei).

The most significant decrease in wages was recorded:

• by 15.6% in coal mining higher and lower;

• from 4.0% to 8.5% per annum leather tanning and finishing, storage and auxiliary activities on transport, financial intermediationactivities related to the production of cinematographic, video and television programs, audio recordings and music editing;

• from 2.0% to 4.0% in other industrial activities, not included in other types, production of other products from non-metallic minerals, production of beverages, collection, treatment and distribution of water, professional, scientific and technical activities, other mining activities , printing and duplicating on record supports.

The most significant increase the size of the average net salary at the level of districts/departments is calculated:

• with 11.8% in telecommunications;

• from 2.0% to 6.0% in the production of tobacco products, services related to the mining industry, metallurgical industry, crude oil and natural gas production, water transport, furniture production;

• from 1.0% to 1.5% in hotels and restaurants, production of computers, electronic and optical products, air transport, production of paper and paper products, real estate transactions, food industry, postal and courier activities.
