Queues overflowing on the highway, standing in lines for several hours without the slightest confidence that you can fill up the tank. Not to mention service stations that are stormed even in the middle of the night when motorists get up at one in the morning to find gas to go to work. Suffice it to say that the situation is getting more and more tense as the days go by. And nothing seems to be getting better as the strike continues on Tuesday 11th October. For more than twenty days, the strikers of TotalEnergies block oil refineries and warehouses, thus preventing the supply of service stations.
#fuel | A new point of the situation with the prefects.
β‘οΈ 29.4% of service stations are in dire straits.
I know that the situation is difficult for many of our fellow citizens. But I repeat: do not make preventive stocks, it worsens the situation. pic.twitter.com/T6YMR0Tgdx

Restrictive measures
So much so that measures had to be taken. In particular, some departments have banned it filling cans, which is usually allowed, especially for motorized lawn mowers. However, there is no punishment for violators. But this is not the only measure to limit the deficit and avoid abuses. Indeed, some service stations have also decided limit top-up to only 30 euros, so that more people can serve themselves. If the department of Vaucluse was the first to take this measure, the Var and the Alpes of Haute-Provence quickly followed suit. It then remains in effect until Friday for the first two and until Tuesday for Vaucluse.

Many stations are idle
According to the latest data, 29.4% of STOs have difficulties at the national level, i.e. a breakdown of at least one product“, as announced yesterday evening by the Minister of Energy, Agnes Panier-Runache. For his part, the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, calls for responsibility and emphasizes that ” blocking is not a way to negotiate“. The government has organized an emergency meeting which hopes to quickly find a solution to this strike.
Because of the 30-cent discount on fuel, there are shortages at many service stations. https://t.co/SzgziQKxfm
